Cypress Hills Visitor Center
Cypress Hills Inter-Provincial Park, Alberta, LEED® Silver Certified

Located in the community of Elkwater, southeast of Medicine Hat, Alberta, the project was funded in large part through Alberta Community Development, Parks and Protected Services, and is one of Alberta's Centennial Legacy projects. The centre is situated on a plateau which was missed by the last ice age and responds to the nature and character of the area. Although completely surrounded by the grasslands of southeast Alberta, the park resembles a mountain environment. The project is rated at the LEED® Silver and has several energy efficient design concepts incorporated into the building.
