Newbrook Lodge has been designed with 150 suites in a mix of studios, one and two bedroom units, and a separate amenities building that provides food, care, and recreation services. Special attention was given to providing a design which maintained the dignity of the seniors through the 'Aging in Place' concept.

This allows the residents to maintain their autonomy in the stand alone apartment residential building. In addition, the design concept called for the existing Lodge, originally constructed in 1960, to be 'recycled' into a new amenity building which housed the social functions of the facility (dining room, lounge, recreation/hobby rooms, etc.). In doing so, the housing was able to be kept to a very affordable level.
