Thorn-Hill Public Library
Calgary, Alberta

The renovation of the Thorn-Hill Branch of the Calgary Public Library included a redesign of the main entry and circulation areas as well as the staff work / lounge areas and the children’s area. In addition, new finishes were incorporated into the library including new flooring and paint and a fresh new interior colour scheme. The exterior of the branch was changed to incorporate a new canopy, a new book-drop, and sidewalk / entry area. The 7,785 sq. ft. (725m²) renovation was completed in January 2006 under budget for a total of $147,500. Previous to work starting on this project, SAHURI + Partners Architecture Inc. completed a comprehensive study of the branch looking at expansion possibilities as well as increasing the parking areas.
