Projects: Protective Services
Camrose Fire Department
Camrose, Alberta
The City of Camrose Fire Hall accommodates a Department of 34 part-time firefighters and four full-time officers. Originally, their existing fire hall was outdated and posed space limitations. In an effort to adapt to and efficiently protect their growing community, the City commissioned SAHURI + Partners to study the Camrose Fire/EMS needs and develop a space needs program with them.
We looked at expansion possibilities, as well as the possibility of a new building (or buildings) on alternate sites. Through response time reviews, space programs, concepts, and budget development, we and our client team in Camrose arrived at a 'community fit' solution that best fulfills their needs. Working with our findings, we carefully designed a new 21,833 sf. (2,033 m
2) fire hall to facilitate specific training needs, and to provide adequate vehicle bays and storage, as well as comfortable operations and administration areas.
The new $4.6 million facility was completed on time and on budget in October, 2007.
