Projects: Residential
URSA Inglewood Group Home
Calgary, Alberta
We were proud to be involved in this project that provides excellent support and resources to the Calgary community. The Universal Rehabilitation Service Agency (URSA) is a local non-profit organization dedicated to rehabilitating those with brain injuries and other disabilities. URSA's $1.42 million Inglewood Group Home is a two-storey, residential-style assisted living facility that accommodates young adults with these conditions.
The 12,378 sf., 12-bedroom home has an upper level consisting of two apartments for staff or partially rehabilitated residents. The main level is split into two living units, each consisting of six bedrooms, a dining area, kitchen area, two living rooms, accessible washroom, and administrative office. Shared facilities include laundry, bathing (including a Century tub and wheel-in shower), and loading area with a handicap lift.
We employed interior and exterior treatments that fit the historical and architectural makeup of the surrounding neighbourhood, and ensures the facility feels like a 'home' and not an institution. Since the Inglewood Group Home opened its doors in 2004, URSA has been continually committed to improving the quality of life of those who live there by helping them achieve personal levels of success and strengthening their community involvement daily.
